Every design practice develops a vocabulary. Certain words, forms, materials, and spatial conditions acquire meaning through repeated exploration. Within HOMME CONCEPTS, these become instruments for thinking and tools for transforming an idea into architecture.

The LEXICON establishes the conceptual language of the practice—a vocabulary of forms, materials, spatial conditions, processes, and ideas through which design is understood and given physical form. It is not a style guide. It is a framework for recognizing the relationships that connect individual architectural decisions to a larger conceptual system.

Words such as THRESHOLD, MEMORY, PERMANENCE, RUIN, MATERIALITY, RITUAL, ATMOSPHERE, PROPORTION, DARKNESS, LIGHT, SILENCE, and PRESENCE become more than definitions. They become spatial propositions. A THRESHOLD can describe a passage, but also anticipation, transition, separation, arrival, or transformation. A RUIN can become an expression of memory and permanence. MATERIAL can become evidence of time. LIGHT can become an architectural substance. RECLAIMED can describe not only a material, but an attitude toward history.

The LEXICON extends beyond words into architectural elements: arches, thresholds, voids, monoliths, courtyards, ruins, reflections, shadows, material contrasts, and acts of procession. Each is treated as an architectural word, carrying its own meaning, memory, and spatial consequence. When these elements are brought together, they create syntax—a method of composing architecture through relationships rather than decoration.
